The canoe is my modification of a design by Platt Monfort of Wiscassett Maine. To get the flat bottomed hull shape that would be stable enough to stand and cast from I needed to laminate each rib from thin strips to take the fast bend from the wide flat bottom to the tumblehome sides. This extra labor took years of my spare time to complete. With a double dacron skin it weighs 48 lbs, not bad for a 16' canoe that can carry three people comfortably.
